FAITH-BASED ADDICTIONS PROGRAM COMES TO NEWPORT

(A ministry of Stokely’s Chapel Baptist Church)

Reformers Unanimous (RU), a national Christ-centered addictions program headquartered in Rockford, IL, is starting a chapter in Newport, TN. Stokely’s Chapel Baptist Church will host the program every Friday night from 7:00pm-9:00pm beginning May 11, 2012. The program is open to all adults who struggle with an addiction or a “stubborn habit”.

Reformers Unanimous founder, Steve Curington, after a ten-year addiction to drugs and alcohol, was able to put aside his addictions through his faith in Jesus Christ, the support of his church, and his understanding of God’s principles of life from the Bible.  The website for RU is www.reformu.com . Wayne Wyatt, pastor of Stokely’s Chapel for over two years, will direct the program. Pastor Wyatt previously directed the RU chapter in Graham, North Carolina for three years. His wife, Tonya, also worked in RU and has extensive training ministering to ladies. There will be a “Kidz Club” for kindergarten through 8th grade led by Kaity Wyatt, for children who come with their parents. They will be taught principles in order to prevent generational addictive behavior. Nursery will also be provided for infants through age 5. Stokely’s Chapel Baptist Church is a church that cares. “Our goal is to help those struggling with addictions as well as church members who desire a closer walk with the Lord to experience abundant life”, says Pastor Wyatt. Church services are Sunday School at 10:00am, morning worship at 11:00am, evening worship at 7:00pm and Wednesday nights at 7:00pm. The church is located at 509 Industrial Road in Newport. The website for the church is www.scbcnewport.com. For more information about Reformers Unanimous, please call Pastor Wyatt at 423-608-3435.
