Items Needed For Our Troops

The Rogersville office of Edward Jones Investments is the drop of location for items to be sent to our  US troops overseas. Items needed are Kool aid, hard candy, snack foods (non perishable),  magazines, deodorant, razors, pens and pencils, notebooks, envelopes, socks and playing cards. Items can be dropped off at Edward Jones investments at 420 Park Boulevard, suite 2 from 8:30am-5:30pm

English As A Second Language Class

Computer Classes for Military Veterans .....ETSU at Kingsport

The course is for Veterans who need an introduction course in computers. Class will meet Tuesdays from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. No computer experience is required. It is not a college credit course and there will be no cost to Honorable Veterans.  Call 423-392-8034 or 423-360-2097.


Rogersville Middle School is looking to start an extended skills class for the 2010-2011 school year

Hawkins County Humane Society in need of dog and cat food

The dog and cat food at the shelter is almost at a emergency level. The shelter is also in need of cleaning supplies. Please drop off your donations at the shelter on Highway 11-W between the hours of 12:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Civic Organization Chartering Rogersville Civitan Club

Club organizers invite community residents to attend organizational meetings at Holston Electric Cooperative on 1200 West Main Street on July 20, July 27, August 3, August 10, and August 17 from 6:30p.m. to 7:30p.m. Fellowship and refreshments will begin at 6:00p.m. Civitan is a worldwide organization of community service clubs whose major emphasis is toward helping people with developmental disabilities. Some of the projects which the Rogersville Civitan Club will be involved in are Special Olympic and Junior Civitan. Applications are now available for the Appalachian Hands Autumn Festival in Kyles Ford, TN.  This showcase and sale of contemporary and traditional artwork and crafts is set for October 29 &30.  Friday evening from 5pm to 9pm and Saturday from 9am -4pm.  The show will take place inside and on the grounds of the Kyles Ford Auction Co. at 3718 Kyles Ford Hwy - Route 33 in Kyles Fort, TN.  Exhibitor spaces are $50 per booth for both days.  Indoor space includes an 8' table, chairs and electricity for lights and the outdoor space is approximately 10'X10' ....exhibitors provide their own tents (limited electricity outside available for an additional $10).  This is a juried show, accepting only handmade crafts and artwork.

The Eleventh Annual 12 Mile Yard Sale

October 2 beginning at 8:30am rain or shine.  Runs the length of Clinch Valley Rd from Rt. 31 to Rt. 70. The Heritage Association of Rogersville, Tennessee will host its 31st annual Heritage Days celebration on October 8, 9 and 10, 2010.  This year’s theme is “Building a Legacy”. Rogersville’s historic town square provides the setting for this popular festival, which showcases traditional music and dance, children’s events in the Young’uns Yard, craft demonstrations, a quilt show, an art and photography show, classic cars and farm equipment and a juried craft fair.  Enjoy the festival foods in the food court or dine in one of the local restaurants downtown.  Visit the recently renovated Historic Hale Springs Inn on Main Street; step back in time and tour, sleep or dine in this beautiful inn that has hosted three U.
