WELLMONT TO HOLD BLOOD DRIVES AT AREA ORGANIZATIONS

             Wellmont Health System’s Marsh Regional Blood Center will conduct public blood drives at the following locations in the coming days:

  • Monday, March 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, Blountville
  • Tuesday, March 2, noon-4:30 p.m., Paramont Coal and Crutchfield, Wise, Va.
  • Tuesday, March 2, 7:30-10 a.m., Stowers Machinery, Kingsport
  • Tuesday, March 2, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Eastman Chemical Co., Building 150, Kingsport
  • Wednesday, March 3, 4-8 p.m., New Victory Baptist Church, Jonesborough
  • Wednesday, March 3, 4-7 p.m., Sunnyside Baptist Church, Kingsport
  • Thursday, March 4, 8-11 a.m., Wal-Mart, West Stone Drive, Kingsport
  • Thursday, March 4, 1-3 p.m., Lowe’s, West Stone Drive, Kingsport
  • Thursday, March 4, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Scott County Career and Technical Center, Gate City, Va.
  • Thursday, March 4, 1-6 p.m., Food City, Wise, Va.
  • Friday, March 5, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Rick Hill Imports, Kingsport
  • Friday, March 5, noon-6 p.m., Wal-Mart, Rogersville

              As many as three lives may be saved each time a person donates blood – and an individual’s blood donation to Marsh Regional stays local to help people in this region. Marsh Regional supplies blood to 22 healthcare facilities in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

              To donate blood, individuals must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health. Persons with a cold, sore throat, fever, flu or fever blisters or who are taking antibiotics may not donate. Donors should eat a balanced meal before giving blood.
