The winner of the Mother's Day Prize is: Ruth Carter

My Mother goes beyond the word "Special".  I prefer the word "God-sent".  She always went to church and everyone called her "Mamaw Ruth".  In October 2010 that changed, you see my mom, who was 76 at the time, suffered an automobile accident and ended up with a severe break in her neck.  A break that most people do not survive, but she did!  She was placed in a halo for 4 months to keep her neck  maintained until the bones could heal.  My mom is a very independent woman, she still cooked, cleaned and drove herself anywhere she wanted to go.  This was a complete change for her, yet she pressed on. Her church days had to come to an end for a while.  After healing from her injuries she was finally able to get back in a car and do for herself again.  In Nov. 2011 she fell and broke her hip and once again was right back where she started a year earlier...yet she pressed on.  Of course physical therapy and prayers have been a big part of her healing.  The greatest though, and she will tell you, is trusting in god for all things whether it be good or bad.  So I know without a doubt, she is God-sent and a special angel...her name if Ruth Carter.
