ETSU Theatre and Dance presents ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’
JOHNSON CITY – The Department of Theatre and Dance at East Tennessee State University will present “The Diary of Anne Frank” Nov. 16-19 in the Bud Frank Theatre. Performance dates are Nov. 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m.
Written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, the show is based upon the book “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl.” This timeless classic tells the story of Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl who, during World War II, goes into hiding with her family and other friends to escape the Nazis. While in hiding, she pens a diary that would be discovered years later by her father.
ETSU student Abigail Brown will appear in the title role and will be joined by cast members Levi Bradford, Charles Clark, Caroline Denning, Callie Dowd, Gleason Holt, Vianna Isbister, Evin McQuistion, Kenny Tyler Mitchell, Kaleb Stone, Ryan Stapleton, Erin Teaster and Luke Walker.
Directed by ETSU faculty member Herb Parker, the play’s creative team also includes Izaak Potter as stage manager; Beth Skinner as costumer designer; Melissa Shafer as lighting designer; Don Moses Schreier as sound designer; Delbert Hall as scenic designer; Grace Arrowood as properties master; Zach Olsen as technical director; Isaline Humphreys as assistant stage manager; and Andrea Marshall as assistant costume designer.
Crew members include Chelsea Josey, Gabe Felty, Caleb Harrison, Alex Hennage and Matt Edwards as wardrobe assistants; Zander Bennett and Rebecca Milhorn as stage carpenters; Taylor Hutchison as lighting technician; and Michael Brister as audio technician.
