WRGS Radio in Rogersville, Tennessee, is a radio station that has made a proud tradition out of serving Hawkins County since 1954. We have always been owned and operated locally by the Beal family. Most of our employees have been a part of our radio family for 10 to 30 years, serving actively in the community at churches, civic clubs, and local organizations.

We play a major role in Rogersville's Fourth of July Celebration in the City Park. This event, home to one of the largest fireworks displays in America, has featured singers such as Tracy Byrd, Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, and the Eli Young Band. We are a sponsor of October Heritage Days in Historic Rogersville, a "Top 10 Event" in the Southeast. We are also active sponsors for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society for Hawkins County, playing a major role in the Charlie Chase Coming Home Concerts, which have featured:

Debbie Beal Owner

Debbie Beal / Owner /  General Manager / Digital Media 

Debbie has been the owner and general manager of WRGS since January 1, 2016 upon the death of her husband Philip Beal who was owner and manager since 1972.  She began working at WRGS in 2008 after closing her Rogersville Pottery Studio and Gallery of 25 years.

Debbie's jobs include bossing the staff and paying for stuff, selling advertising, production, IT manager (scary isn't it),  and going to for her!  To contact Debbie call the station at 272-2628 or email .

Jay Phillips

Jay Phillips /  Sports / Production Manager

Jay has been with WRGS for over 25 years and is the "Voice of the Cherokee Chiefs" he announces all their games from football to basketball to baseball, Jay handles our music scheduling, production and traffic,  He is the Facilitator of "Friday Football Forecast", Swap Shop and News Announcer and the Voice of WRGS!  He is definately overqualified, over worked and underpaid!   You can listen to the Chiefs games on WRGS AM 1370 and FM 94.5, Listen live here on or follow us on TuneIn Radio. Tom Davis

Tom Davis / Tom in the Morning / Swap Shop

Bob Kramer

Bob Kramer (Bobo) / Office Manager / Digital Media Manager

Bob has been with WRGS for a couple of years and is a great addition to our staff.  His Bad Bob Joke of the Day annoys the H......ugh makes us laugh every morning.  Oh and if you encounter Bob on the street beware that one bad joke leads to another, then another and on and on....just sayin!  Bob's duties include updating swap shop online, and the website in general as well as sitting in on the Morning Show with Tom Davis.  He procures the concert tickets, Dollywood  and Ripleys tickets as well as trivia prizes that we give away on the Morning Show.  Follow Bob on Facebook to catch his "BAD BOB JOKE OF THE DAY".. He also gives away tickets  so be sure to like and share his Facebook posts.  Send your PSA's, birthday announcements and annoying jokes to  Bob prefers submissions be in the body of the email because he doesn't like typing all that stuff!;oP

Tom Underwood

Tom Underwood /  Swap Shop  /  Saturday Blue Grass Hour and Request Line

Tom has been with WRGS since the 1980's when he did the Cherokee Sports broadcasts with Blaine Jones. He currently assists Jay with color during the Cherokee games.  Tom does the Friday and Saturday Swap Shop, the Blue Grass Hour and The Request Line . The Request Line on Saturday  is a favorite with our listeners who call in to have Tom play a favorite song.  (Yes, I used favorite twice in that sentence).  If you see Tom out and about be sure to ask him about his new granddaughter!

Monica Cisbani
